Interesting
Hope you get an ID on this. I'm always amazed at how sometimes a slight difference in marking means a different species, when other times there are huge variations in the same species.

 
Leptoglossus adults are fairly consistent
although the full complement of identifying marks are not always visible.

 
You're right
it's not Leptoglossus phyloppus - I think it is most likely L. clypealis (below). If you have a full-size image to zoom in on you might be able to make out the point between the antennae (see info page). The stripe and shallow scallops on the legs are a good fit.
