Giant Water Bug (Abedus indentatus)? - male

Giant Water Bug (Abedus indentatus)? - Male
Eaton Canyon Natural Area, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 6, 2014
Size: body length approx. 1 in.
A sharp-eyed 5th grader spotted this insect and I was glad to be there with my camera. Unfortunately, not much of the adult's body is visible. Approx. 1/3 of the eggs have hatched already, and in this photo, one nymph is in the process of emerging from its egg.
