This lovely moth was found on the wall of a lighted breezeway in an apartment complex and photographed in place. This individual has quite the bold pattern. This must be a female, compare these
photos by Lynn Scott of a male with very feathery antennae. (I examined the original scan at full magnification, and the antennae are quite threadlike in this photo.) Also compare

All the specimens I've seen here in Durham have very heavy markings, I don't know if this is distinctive for a particular species or not:
