Black Spider with Red Legs - Sphodros rufipes

Size: about 3/4 inch
Crossing stone trail.
90 degF.
about 4:50 pm
Looks somewhat like a trapdoor spider, but the only ones I have seen before have black legs.

Redlegged purseweb spider (Sphodros rufipes)?
Seems like that has to be it!

Wow, a purseweb spider.
We have purses in other parts of the park, but I have never seen the spider and never felt like I should open the purse just to see one.
Pretty neat!
