Southern Purple Mint Moth - Pyrausta laticlavia

A Southern Purple Mint Moth (Pyrausta laticlavia) at the Claremont College' Bernard Field Station. It's on the underside of a leaf of Yerba Santa (Eriodictyon trichocalyx var. trichocalyx) in an area of coastal sage scrub recovering after a burn eight months previously. This will add July for California to the data for this species.
