Trichiotinus, but which species? - Trichiotinus piger

Size: 1/2 inch?
I figured out it was Trichiotinus, but which species? Found it in a rose, but couldn't tell if it was feeding from the petals or the pollen.
Doesn't seem to have the extra white patches on its rear-end that T. affinis have.

the 'unlikely' was based on my observation
our scarab experts [i'm not one of them by any means] all too often leave pics of members of this group at genus level

species ID unlikely in this case
