Looks very similar (reference by black marks on fore-wing) to an eastern comma.

 
I gather grey and eastern comma do look similar
but this one didn't have hooks on the ends of the comma pattern on the underside of the hindwing. I had three other cats in the same cohort and none of the other adults had hooks either.
