Mating Yellow Jackets? - Temnostoma alternans

Mating Yellow Jackets? - Temnostoma alternans
New London, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA
June 14, 2014
Size: main bugs were inch or so
These were on my anemone sylvestris. I think they are yellow jackets but not sure after consulting Kaufman's insect guide; so many bee patterns! Also curious what the other two bugs on the same flower are, if anyone can see them well enough.

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Note divided marks on transverse suture and pattern of three black areas on the lower abdominal segments, rather than undivided marks and two black bands as in T. excentrica. Nice capture!

The other two insects are both flies - the left one might be a fungus gnat, and the right one perhaps a syrphid, but I can't tell with certainty on either.

Thank you for further info an
