Identification
Jeanne,

It looks like you found this beetle on a rose leaf. Please tell me if that is true. Can you obtain a specimen or two and mail them to me? This appears to be an introduced species which has just turned up in western Washington, so it is very important for me to verify my identificaton, because you are in eastern Washington.

If you obtain specimens, let me know (rwestcott@oda.state.or.us) and I will send you mailing instructions. However, I will be out for 10 days starting Friday, so it may be best if you just keep the specimens in your freezer--this will maintain them fresh--until I can get back to you.

Yes, several of these beetles
Yes, several of these beetles were on a rose growing in a garden near Davenport, WA. I will contact you by e-mail.
