Beutenmueller's Slug Moth Caterpillar - Isochaetes beutenmuelleri

Beutenmueller's Slug Moth Caterpillar - Isochaetes beutenmuelleri
Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia, USA
September 11, 2004
Size: 10-15mm
I previously submitted one photo of this specimen, but I'm uploading some additional ones so I can invite a few people to take a look from various angles.

I have a new theory on this one. Latin American Insects and Entomology mentions a family related to Limacodidae with sluglike larvae: Dalceridae. The larvae are described as "covered with translucent, sticky, gelatinous, conical tubercles" (1). According to Covell though (2), they don't occur in the East.
