Platytylus bicinctus - female

Platytylus bicinctus - Female
Victoria, Victoria County, Texas, USA
June 20, 2014
Size: 10 mm

Platytylus bicinctus
Moved from Platytylus.

The only species known in the US. The color pattern also checks out with the description of Resthenia mimica in Distant (1883), which was later synonymized with P. bicinctus.

Thanks Jason!

Prepops sp., female
I'm able to eliminate some possibilities but there isn't really a good key to the North American species of which I'm aware. We'll have to wait for input from Dr Schwartz or another mirid specialist.

Measured size is 10 mm.

Dr Schwartz will revisit it
