Eumorpha achemon? - Eumorpha achemon

Size: Wingspan: 2 3/4 in
This sphinx moth was sitting on my front porch on the ground. I've never seen such a gigantic moth in San jose before, despite having lived here my whole life.
I'm not an expert by any means, but based on appearance, location and time of year I'm guessing Achemon sphinx?

Found west of the Sierra Nevada range in California.
