very small thread-legged bug
Found walking across my keyboard. Thought it was
a small mosquito at first, but it wasn't.

Not correct -- sort of
The common name of this entire subfamily of Rediviidae is "thread-legged bugs" (which technically is not an "official" common name);however, if this species is
Empicoris rubromaculatus
, and it probably is, its "official" common name is
"thread bug"
. Currently, I serve on the
Entomological Society of America's Committee on Common Names
.
