This is very likely Tachyporu
This is very likely Tachyporus atriceps, a Palaearctic species that has long been confused in North America with T. canadensis (see here: https://zookeys.pensoft.net/article/37862/)

A male specimen observed in person would be needed to secure it, but this would represent the first record of the species in the U.S (we recorded it broadly from eastern Canada).

Cheers,
Adam

Tachyporus canadensis Campbell, female
Moved from Tachyporus. Tenatively ID'd from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks John.

Based on the setal pattern on the elytra, this should be a dark-colored T. canadensis, although to my knowledge this is a bit further south than it has been reported
