Stink bug - Brochymena carolinensis

Stink bug - Brochymena carolinensis
Deane, Letcher County, Kentucky, USA
June 21, 2014
Size: 17mm
In sweep net.

Brochymena carolinensis (Westwood), male
Moved from Brochymena punctata. ID'd from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks Lisa!

The angle here does suggest B. punctata, but with specimen in-hand it is definitely B. carolinensis. Verified by checking genitalia.

Brochymena punctata --det. D.B. Thomas
Moved from Rough Stink Bugs.

Moved from Stink Bugs.
