Size: about 3/4"
A common bug found around the garden & orchard. Has a light orange perimeter on a dark brown bug.

Largid?
Either a largid or a coreid. If the former, it is a female bloated with eggs. Coreidae generally have the edges of the abdomen visible from above, just like this. I'm leaning toward Coreidae. They are most common on legumes (the seed pods), and also on gourds.

Taxonomy
Search Anasa (or Coreidae etc), then click on an image go get to the proper page. Then click on the Taxonomy tab. You can spend a lot of time searching thru the images. Cheers, Sandy

My error.
This is not an Anasa sp. I should eventually be able to give a species ID, maybe next time I visit the collection over at the U of AZ. Sorry. Moving back to family.
