this specimen is helluo. Charlevoix County should yield some nice wolves: Tig aspersa, Hogna carolinensis, and various Geolycosa.

 
Really? I used to see H. car
Really? I used to see H. carolinensis a lot. Haven't seen a single specimen or burrow in years though...

 
only caro's
only caro's i ever collected were in Michigan, in sandy pine habitat. A male and female were just a short distance apart wandering the forest floor. Been back numerous times but found none. They're around, just secretive.

It still looks very Tigrosa helluo to me. If you can get a ventral, we might be able to tell you more.
