Leaf-cutter bee. Megachile? - Megachile mendica Columbia, Boone County, Missouri, USA June 25, 2014 Size: 10-12 mm (guessing)
I'm pretty sure it's Megachile, but could anyone help with the species? It was cutting leaves on a Penstemon plant. Judging by what appears to be pollinia on its hind leg, I'd guess it was feeding on common milkweed flowers nearby. Thanks!
