Tick - Amblyomma

Tick - Amblyomma
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
June 26, 2014
Size: approx. 2 mm
Crawled on my hand :(

Amblyomma americanum - Lone Star Tick? Male?

Moved
Could be A. maculatum; would need to see the underside to be sure (esp. coxal spurs). Body shape looks a bit elongate for americanum.

Moved from Hard Ticks.

thanks
... but it already relocated to my septic tank.

Moved for expert attention
Moved from ID Request.
