rusty-rump dermestid larva - Paranovelsis aequalis

rusty-rump dermestid larva - Paranovelsis aequalis
New Hampshire, USA
Size: about 5.8 mm
I don't know where (other than southern New Hampshire) I found this one. Either I brought it home or found it in my bathroom, which doubles as my arthropod nursery and photography studio. I plopped it into my dermestid rearing container where same-family larvae munch on dry insect remains. With luck I will catch it in pupal stage, seperate it, and see what ecloses.

Based on larva-to-adult image sequences I've determined this larva type to be Novelsis aequalis.
