Tufted-tail dermestid larvae - Anthrenus verbasci

Tufted-tail dermestid larvae - Anthrenus verbasci
New Hampshire, USA
Size: 4 - 5 mm
These two same-species dermestid larvae are temporarily joined at the tail due to the density and orientation of their tail tufts. One obviously fell over upsidedown onto the other and their tail tufts jammed into each other. Just like jamming two hair brushes together, it took some effort to pull apart, which they eventually did on their own after posing this comical sight for a minute or two.
