Hadena ectypa
Hi, I am Charlie Fenster (University of Maryland) and I and my colleagues have been studying the interaction between the pollinating seed-eating moth Hadena ectypa and its native host, Silene stellata. I am very interested in how you reared H. ectypa, if you found it on Silene stellata, and anything else you might have observed concerning this interaction.

Also am happy to answer questions that you might have!

This is a good year for Silene stellata in the planted prairie, more of it than I've seen in some years (of course I really don't see it when it's not blooming.) Two days ago I found a Hadena ectypa so it's good to know they are still around. It's habit was the same as this

but its markings were pale and indistinct.
As an aside, I've never seen larvae on White Campion, Silene latifolia, which I try to weed out.
