female Cibolacris parviceps
The ones from the red-rock country in southern Utah and adjacent Colorado - like this one - look a lot like C. samalayuca from s. NM, w. TX, and n. CHIH. However, they are found hundreds of miles away. Since "normal" C. parviceps also occurs in this part of Utah, more study may show that there are actually two different species found here, one perhaps without a name. And, this would be representative of the unnamed one.

Moved from Grasshoppers, Crickets, Katydids.
