Entomobrya griseoolivata
Thanks Tom for adding the second picture. In which I could now see clearly at the anterior margin the set of scalelike greyish patches typical for E. griseoolivata.

Drepanura californica. Family = Entomobryidae
Possibly...
At first sight I assumed it was Entomobrya confusa. But I got confused by the bilateral thoracic patches... ;-)
Consider this as a first tentative ID. The full pattern of D. californica is difficult to see in this picture. And the specimen is too big. D. californica is max 2.0 mm. Did you include the antennae in the size?

size
It was one of the largest springtails running around in the bucket I had them in. The measurement is only the body, not the antennae. I'm adding another angle to see if that helps.
