black stubby bee - Melissodes bimaculatus - male

black stubby bee - Melissodes bimaculatus - Male
Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, USA
July 4, 2014
I think that all the bees in this sequence are related. There were flying around the tops of a batch of Black-eyed Susans. Occasionally one would do the egg dance under a leaf and then the other would meet it briefly before they would both fly off.
