black longhorn beetle with red epaulets - Purpuricenus humeralis

black longhorn beetle with red epaulets - Purpuricenus humeralis
Pine Bush Preserve, Albany County, New York, USA
July 4, 2014
Size: fairly large
I'd never seen one of these before, but there were two of them on separate plants a few feet apart. This one had been on the flower that's behind it in this image. The closest matches I've found so far were in genus Desmocerus, but this one doesn't have red extending the full length of the abdomen (and NY isn't the west.)

Purpuricenus humeralis
It looks like Purpuricenus humeralis, another should confirm.

Thanks, Jeff
It does look like a good match.
