Size: VERY small, maybe 3mm?
Can't seem to find it in Peterson Field Guide to Moths and I also looked through hundreds of micros of all types here and can't seem to find it either.

closest is perhaps???: http://bugguide.net/node/view/830868/bgimage (Opostegoides scioterma - Hodges#0125)

Maybe some kind of Tineoidea?

Thanks for managing to ID this!

It seems to be maybe somewhat rare I guess? (or maybe just easily overlooked?)

It was found on a property containing some 185 year old trees next to area where the patch of forest is at least 185 years old (not a very common occurrence in most places these days) with extensive other acreage of various ages extending beyond.

(since this photo was taken, sadly the new neighbors came in and cut their property flat and removed some nearly 200 year old Red Oaks, Black Oaks and Sugar Maples, absolutely criminal the ugly disaster they made on such a unique property; there are still the remaining old trees on our property, the neighbor on the other side's and in the wildlife management owned portion directly back though (although Sandy took out a few more of the giants))
