Deer Fly ? - Chrysops excitans - Female
N47.630165 W52.686938 (WGS84). Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
July 7, 2014
Size: Estimated 1cm body length
Netted in a small woodlot near a peat bog. It flew away before I could get better photos. One of these same flys bit me a few minutes previously and it made a significant blood spot on my arm.
