As Brad points out, this fits the description for I. reculusus rather than I. immundus. The I. immundus in the guide differs in the features mentioned.

Very cool
I had a similar one that I took pictures of several weeks ago. Nice picture!

Inopeplus immundus Rtt. --det. J.C. Ciegler
her comment: "Its head, excluding eyes, is slightly wider than pronotum; the eyes are convex, not flattened; the punctures of head appear sparse rather than close; and there are four abdominal tergites exposed rather than 3.5. Too bad I didn't get this location in time to make it into my next book. Yes, it is an uncommon beauty, and a fine photo."

Confused by this ID
Perhaps a simple mix-up in the name? The comment above ("head, excluding eyes, is slightly wider than pronotum; the eyes are convex, not flattened; the punctures of head appear sparse rather than close; and there are four abdominal tergites exposed rather than 3.5") is the description of I. reclusa in Ciegler's book
(

; I. immundus would then be the opposite of that description.

I agree,
Must've been a simple mix-up of the names.

excellent!
wow. thanks so much. I had plans to save this one after I found it on a piece of clothing after a walk, but I got ambitious and tried to get a photo of it on a log, looking more natural, but an ant ran right up, grabbed it and ran away with it.
