Largus sp.
This is a largid bug, family Largidae, genus Largus.

So it's LARGe instead of big.
Thanks, Eric. I really like your book and have been checking on thrips.

I believe this is L. californicus, based on Hartmut's post and the Hogue reference he cited.

species ID?
How is californicus distinguished from cinctus and succinctus? There's no information on the species page of cinctus or californicus.

Here's the post on which I based my ID

Hogue's book is a mainstay in this region, but note that it was published in 1974. He calls the insect Largus cinctus californicus, devoting two brief paragraphs and a photograph to it. (I have the second edition 1993.)
