Identification
Frons dark, first flagellomere yellow, fore tibia without lateral setae, first flagellomere without apical spine, M1+2 ending nearer to wing tip than R4+5, halter light colored, C extends to M1+2, fronto-orbital setae erect, reclinate, or absent, Sc incomplete(1)
Habitat
The larvae all mine leaves. 3 species, L. huidobrensis, L. sativae, and L. trifolii are highly polyphagous and are agricultural pests in Florida and California. (1)

Remarks
Like a few other agromyzid genera, these produce sound with a stridulatory comb on hind femur and a file on 1st abdominal segment(1).
