No,
I forgot to bring my camera (dumb move).
If you go to this website, there is a picture that shows pretty much what it looked like:

That is absolutely crazy!!
my best night of black lighting looked like this:

that is nothing to that picture!!

wow...
I have never seen so many moths in one place before. Things like this really urge me to do a sheet trap like this. I have photographed 170 moths currently in Alberta and I'M sure that will boost high if I did it. Too many to choose from..

You collected all of these
in the same place on the same day?! Please tell us the story!

Madera Canyon
Is one of the greatest places to collect insects in late July. I went on vacation there last year just to set up my MV light in the canyon. In a span of four days (July 19-23) I added around 20 new species of moths to my collection. My sheet was literally covered in moths and beetles. I have a few more Saturniids and a bunch of Sphingids still to post so keep any eye out for them when I post them. The first day didn't give me a whole lot, a few oslari and splendens, and 2-3 gloveri. The second day a few sphingids, falco, typhon and some others, and the third day is when a bunch of new Saturniids and Sphingids started flying in, and I caught most of my quarry that day. The fourth day provided a few sphingids and Saturniids, but nothin as exciting as the third day. I can't wait to go back there, it is spectacular.
