A worker of Dolichovespula alpicola?
In my opinion this worker is that of D. alpicola, which is an elusive and interesting wasp. Thanks for posting these :) These would be the first live images of this species!

New record for Buguide!!!!!
I sent these photos over to Bob Jacobson (the author of vespula flavopilosa) for identification and he promptly responded: " Although I can't see the face of this wasp, It certainly looks like D. alpicola to me" He also stated "Its interior locality also suggests this species. In addition to various other localities in AK and the lower 48, I've collected D. alpicola, in YT just a few miles from the AK state line". This would be the first live image of this species! Great job!!! You have made history.
