Springwater Dancer - Male from Kansas Tallgrass Prairie - Argia plana - Male
Konza Tallgrass Prairie Ecological Preserve, Riley County, Kansas, USA
July 15, 2006
True to its name, the Springwater Dancer can be found at clear, constant temperature spring fed streams. The species occurs across Kansas. This one was photographed in the tallgrass prairie just north of I-70 in the famous FLint Hills of Kansas, near the town of Manhattan, home to Kansas State University, which manages the Konza Prairie Preserve.

Hi, Roy
Your images are beautiful and comments very informative. It's nice to have some more Kansas images. We Kansans are majorly underrepresented here. In fact, I only count as half a Kansan because I'm such a novice. :-) Terry
