English names
Neat pics - is "Raspberry Cane Borer" really an accepted English name? I understand English names are not official and can vary from place to place, but two species in the same genus with overlapping ranges having the same name seems odd. I Always saw Oberea perspicillata referred to by that name and it is referred to by that name on this site as well.

Well I'm not a beetle expert, so I can't really say, but on the info page it says that the two species may be synonymous. If that's true then it would make sense that they have the same common name.
