On goldenrod, Solidago species. This is rather a dark individual, perhaps it is fairly fresh. You can see the light/dark line on the abdomen, a distinctive field mark. The face of this individual is rather white. There is perhaps a hint of the purple sheen on the underside of the hindwings, which shows on fresh individuals, according to Glassberg. (1)
