I doubt this is Mordellistena cervicalis, but then what is it? Any other images (or the beetle itself)?

Falsomordellistena hebraica
Thanks! Your second image did the trick. This is certainly F. hebraica. It's a male (from the light colored pronotum with medial spot). And the male iridescent head color is clearly seen (first for our BG images). Thanks for going the extra image!
