Black Witch Moth - male - Ascalapha odorata

Black Witch Moth - male - Ascalapha odorata
San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA
July 4, 2014
Size: wing span - a full 7"
Wish I could have gotten a shot, or even just seen, this moth's underside and body, but I didn't.
It sat still long enough to shoot a few shots like this and then took off so fast I saw nothing else.
As you can see, the wing span was a smidgen larger than two bricks and their mortar, which = 7".
They grow em LARGE in Texas. ;)
