Araneus alboventris

Araneus alboventris
Seymour or Hamden, New Haven County, Connecticut, USA
July 14, 2014
Size: 3-4 mm
Found this spider on my car (was hard to miss it!). Seems to be missing some legs - might have hitchhiked from Seymour to Hamden. I've looked all over the web and in this guide and haven't found anything with these markings. Very curious to find out what kind it is!

How about alboventris?

Guessing you mean mm?

*facepalm* Yes, mm...will edi

And thank you! This spider was so vividly yellow on the body, I didn't even think to call it green. I've never seen one like this in Connecticut...I was concerned about it getting hurt more, so I took a stick and transferred it to a nice hosta. :-)

If it eats well it should be able to regrow those legs.
Depends on how many molts it has left.
