Keyed with Curran (1951); pteropleura is black, so this is S. liturata rather than one of S. interrupta/foxleei/citima, and location agrees.

Question/comment: scutellar yellow marks on all (visible) BG specimens are approximately two dots, mine are considerably larger? I guess that's not a diagnostic character, just variability?

Probably just variability - the only scutellar character in the key asks whether the scutellum is wholly black or has a reddish/yellowish border. There are a few Mexican species, but this specimen doesn't key out to them.
