Moved from ID Request.

Pelonides quadripunctata?
based on the insect below with 4 spots, except there are currently no images on the data page in Alabama...

common name
Can you give me a common name?

checkered beetle
However, I am not certain of the ID. There are experts on this site who know more than I do. The date of March is right, but there are currently no specimens from Alabama.

checkered beetle
From what I found I do believe this is a four-spotted checkered beetle. Thanks!

You're welcome
If the ID is correct, I believe you are the first person from Alabama to add this bug to the guide.

Please crop all of your submissions... close to "just the bug" as possible. Only you and the editors have the ability to see the full-size images. Everyone else is left looking at little bugs in a lot of unnecessary background. :)

You can click on "edit" and simply upload a cropped version. It will replace the current pic.

Thanks--and welcome to BugGuide!
