Could also be
a male Alypia langtoni. I'm not sure how to distinguish the two. If you're confident in your ID, don't post here - just place it in the guide.

Alypia langtoni or mactulata?
Sorry, not sure. Still getting hang of bug guide. This looks more like Alypia langtoni to me than the 8-Spotted Forester, my original ID. The spots on forewing are narrow and the overall size seems more like that of langtoni. I didn't realize that langtoni occurs as far south as CO, but doing some more research, I see that it does.

I'd go with original ID,
on the strength of biogeography. Yes, langtoni occurs farther south than CO, but all of the locations in MPG for the beast suggest that it is a boreal/montane species, while octomaculata is more plastic in its habitats and there are quite a few CO eastern-plains records already.
