Small butterfly - Satyrium saepium

Small butterfly - Satyrium saepium
Glacier National Park - Scalplock Lookout, Flathead County, Montana, USA
July 17, 2014
Size: approx. 20-25 mm
This small butterfly (a tailed hairstreak?) was flying in a small meadow running along a ridge line at an altitude of 5,925 feet along the Scalplock Lookout trail in the southern potion of Glacier National Park. When in flight (fast, darting, close to ground) the upper wing flashed orange / brown. It landed on an arm, where I was able to take this photograph. I will appreciate any help in identification.

Nice image. I agree with Mike, Hedgerow hairstreak.

Thank you for the ID
Thanks for the ID. Although S. saepium may be common in the west, it seems to be a rare find in Glacier National Park. During three years of butterfly surveys in the 1980s it was reported only once. The only specimen housed in the Glacier Park museum was collected by John Garth in 1935.
