Physocephala texana

Physocephala texana
Ouray, Ouray County, Colorado, USA
May 12, 2012
Size: ~11mm
Aaron S: "The specimen in your images appears to be Physocephala texana...[though] the frons seems a bit large (and the vertex correspondingly small) for that species. A significantly faded condition for the typically dark reddish 'T-pattern' on the frons is not unheard of in P. texana...but it's rather extreme in your specimen here."
