Explanation of Names
Muscosa is Latin for "mossy".
Size
Forewing length 4.7-6.0 cm. (1)
Range
Costa Rica north through Mexico to southern and western Arizona.
Season
Mid-July to early August.
Food
Larvae feed on toothleaf goldeneye (Viguiera dentata, Asteraceae) and other composites. (1)
