Interesting, as we review these two images
we would lean more toward Tramea onusta. Not much black on the sides of the abdomen tip and what seems to be a large transparent spot near the abdomen on the back wings. Cliff, what do you say??

I'd go with Carolina
There may be a bit more red than usual on the abdomen, but I am seeing the violet (dark) forehead and quite a large red hindwing band for onusta. I have seen several other pictures of carolina with pale spots in the hindwing band, including some of my own. Also, onusta, while it does show up in this area, is a rare immigrant, typically late in the season.
