Very Large Honey Bee - Apis mellifera

Size: 1 inch or more
Any comments on this large Honey Bee visiting heliotrope flowers . I assume is Apis mellifera but I would like some perspective on the large size, It was as large as a scollid wasp visiting the same flowers
