Mimic Crescent - Phyciodes incognitus - male

Mimic Crescent - Phyciodes incognitus - Male
Along forested Forest Service Road to Beauty Spot; approximately 4000' in elevation., Unicoi County, Tennessee, USA
July 22, 2014
Size: 2-3 cm
The Mimic Crescent (Phyciodes incognitus) was first described only 10 years ago and appears to be a southern Appalachian endemic. I recently photographed this male specimen on Unaka Mountain in eastern TN, but would like to get the opinion of one or more butterfly experts. This may be the first record for this species in TN.

Not an expert. Looks like a Northern Crescent
which does not occur in TN. Has orange club tip as an indicator for male Mimic as described in BG info.
