Neandra brunnea
Ankeny, Polk County, Iowa, USA
July 27, 2014
Size: roughly 1/2"
Found after cutting a tree trunk in half. Tunnels with larvae also present. Type of tree unknown - base of a grafted willow.

Not sure,
but try to compare to
Neandra brunnea
, a cerambycid (Long-horned Beetle) with short horns. :) Nice find.
