Size: 25 mm
This moth was spotted at ground level clinging to a sugar maple seedling leaf around 10:30 AM. Air temp around 72 F. This moth has very fuzzy appendages on the front. legs? Antennae? It looks like a bird dropping at first glance.Total length is about 25 mm. Width around 4 mm. Leading edge of wing appears to have maroon or brown spot. Wind is mostly white. Trailing edge looks like it has blue, maroon, ochre, and black colors.
